About a month or two back I started taking a certain detox supplement because of the information I came across while reading up on detoxing and the levels of toxins we’re subjected to. Naturally I only just wanted to help my body and off load a bit of the burden. One of the things I have started doing as a result of the info is switching off my phone when I go to sleep and unplugging the microwave and Wi-Fi router out of the wall socket when I’m not using them (EMF emissions). The strangest thing started happening to me; I would sometimes hear a soft high pitch sound. At first I obviously didn’t know what it was, but I eventually discovered the sound came from the microwave when it was plugged into the socket. Thinking it was crazy that a microwave could emit a sound, I unplugged it because well, I needed answers and to prove to myself that it was only my imagination… And the sound would stop…
Why do we feel we need to detox?

I read a post and in it the question was asked; “are we really that dirty…” that we need to detox our bodies? That’s actually how I used to think; why do some of us feel they need to detox when we already have organs created specifically for that purpose? And our forefathers got along without it just fine. But times have changed and its not all pretty. The amount of toxins/ chemicals in our food (GMO), water (fluoride), air, homes, skin and hair care products is jaw-dropping once you become aware of it. We’re exposed to toxins in the form of processed food, pesticides, medication, heavy metals, environmental chemicals- to name a handful.
So to answer that “dirty question”; no we are not dirty but detoxing can only do you good, by enhancing your body’s normal detoxification processes and easing the burden caused by the unhealthy environments we live in. Our bodies are overburdened and have to work overtime to remove man made toxins which in the first place we weren’t “created evolutionarily to deal with” as said by Dr. Shanna Swan. The world we live in is filled with chemicals and poisons, and we just weren’t made to thrive in this kind of polluted environment..
To paint a picture of the amount of toxins we’re exposed to; in the year 2005 around 5 million tons of chemicals where being produced by the industrialized world, most of which were not tested for safety. And roughly how much do we have in our bodies? Jerry Heindel, Director at Healthy Environment and Endocrine Disruptor Strategies:
Nobody ever thought that we would have over 200 chemicals in our blood… none of those chemicals belong there
And what about the effects these toxins have on our bodies?
There have been increasing changes over the last 50 years, a few of which are reduced semen quality (fertility has decreased by 50%, another source states 75-85%) “abnormalities of the male genital tract have doubled, testes cancer has become the first cancer amongst young men, prostate cancer is four times higher. On the women’s side its not just breast cancer; the onset of puberty appears at around 8 or 9 in young American girls, in adults the PCOS, endometriosis and miscarriages have caused a raise in fertility problems, obesity is on the rise, diabetes increases by 5% every year. There are also cardiovascular diseases, immune system alterations, asthma and thyroid problems, learning defects and behavior disorders that seem to be increasing in children… “[The great invasion documentary 2015]
So how do humans ingest some of these chemicals?
One of these many chemicals is called Bisphenol A (BPA); used in the making of plastic and mimics the female sex hormone estrogen, and is present in pretty much everything made of synthetic material, the likes of “kitchen rolls, plastic containers, plugs, floor coverings, household electric appliances, refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves, blenders, vacuum cleaners, dishwashers, metal furniture, thermal paper (sales receipts, boarding passes, luggage tags), water bottles, dental fillings, dental and medical devices, food packaging, car equipment, the inside coatings of tins and cans, hair dryers, protective glasses, sports helmets, racquets, skis and other sports equipment, garden tools, cameras, glasses, cosmetic tubes, water flasks, irons, TVs, computers, windows, water pipes… It’s been this way since the 1950s. The largest exposure humans have to this chemical is by mouth from food packaging. It has adverse human health effects including reproductive and developmental effects in unborn babies too. A plastic bottle with this resin identification code and a number ♻️ 1,2,4,5 and 6 may unlikely have BPA.
Can we protect ourselves?

Is there anything you can do to lessen exposure to these chemicals/toxins and protect yourself and your loved ones? Because it cannot be completely avoided as its become a part of our daily lives. Well, I believe we need to be informed first and foremost do a bit of research and be in the know- empower yourself with knowledge. Spending time in nature whenever you get a chance, away from everyday chemicals and fumes is a wonderful place to start. I remember visits to my grandparents’; there was only two houses in their “neighbourhood” and the other occupants where the farm and wild animals, the birds and bugs, trees in the surrounding forests, fruits- wild and home grown, streams and the wonderful sounds of nature. The night was pitch darkn and the sky would be densely lit with stars, but there were times the moon shone some light in the most amazing way that it wasn’t even dark at all. The air was pure. It was a kind of “good for the soul” place to be… If you can, spend lots of time in nature.
Some minor yet impactful changes to detox
- As much as possible, eliminate the use of plastic in your home (some plastic ingredients block testosterone). Instead, use glass, wood or stainless steel.
- Get a filter for your home water and drink mineral water instead of tap water (avoid drinking toxic fluoride in your water)
- Use a natural remineralizing toothpaste that doesn’t contain any fluoride
- Avoid GMOs and processed food; start reading your food labels and eat as much organic food as possible
- Avoid aerosols and air fresheners
- Stay away from synthetic materials in clothing… (where possible choose natural fabric like cotton, linen)
- Plant your own organic food
- Eat plenty of cruciferous vegetables, they help your body detox
- Wean your body off of synthetic pharmaceutical “medicine”- they do more harm than good in the long run.
- Educate yourself about using food, herbs and spices as medicine.

Chemicals cannot for sure be avoided altogether, they’re a part of our world and daily lives (unless action is taken). However the more we’re aware of their presence and the effects thereof, the wiser the decisions we’ll be able to make. And detoxing does not have to be an extreme feat, as previously mentioned you can start by just eating foods that aid your liver and body to detox every day.
I’m convinced my senses could have been heightened because of the detox supplement I was taking. I cannot say what that sound was because no one ever talks about it. But could it have been a frequency? I mean is it possible that humans can hear frequencies if we’re in a better state than our normal? When I ran out I didn’t get any more probably because I wasn’t aware of the effects it had on me at the time. I was reminded about it because a few days ago I realized that I couldn’t hear the sound anymore. And the whole ordeal got me wondering just how all these toxins and man made chemicals we’re constantly exposed to are really affecting us. I wonder if we lived chemical free as we are meant to; what are we really capable of?
